Freedom Foods a finalist in the World Innovation Awards 2018

Freedom Foods has been recognised for its innovative food products, with the Barley+ Seven Seeds Bars and Messy Monkeys Whole Grain Bites being announced as finalists in the 2018 World Innovation Awards.

The Barley+ Seven Seeds Bars took a finalist position in the ‘Best’ Snack category.

Barley+ is a breakfast muesli, flatbread wrap and muesli bar range that contains BARLEYmax. This is a special high-fibre, non-genetically modified barley whole grain developed by CSIRO using conventional plant breeding methods.

Freedom Foods stated that sports professionals including the Rabbitohs team, Olympic swimmer Leisel Jones and dietitian Leanne Ward have used Barley+ products to help them achieve good gut health and fat loss. After a pre-season gut reboot, the three Rabbitohs professionals lost a combined 14.1 kg.

Messy Monkeys Whole Grain Bites, on the other hand, was awarded a place as a finalist in the children’s nutrition range.

Containing only natural ingredients, the Whole Grain Bites have no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives, palm oil or MSG. It boasts a Health Star Rating of 4, and the company states it is a quick, easy, nutritional and delicious addition to a child’s lunchbox or canteen meal.

According to Nutritional Advisor Dr Joanna McMillan, “The new range of Messy Monkeys bites makes getting kids to eat a healthier diet a whole load easier.”

Following the successful launch of the Whole Grain Bites, Freedom Foods plans to launch new range extensions over the coming months.
