Final countdown to sensory experience at foodpro 2023
With the expo floor sold out and education timetables finalised, foodpro is only days away from kick-off at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 23 July until 26 July.
This year’s show has more than 400 exhibitors and a wide range of new features to explore products and insights, as well as opportunities to network.
“One area that we are excited to feature will be the Sensory Experience. This will provide a unique experience for exhibitors to share new product offerings and for visitors to explore what’s new on the market,” said foodpro Product Manager Felicity Parker.
Here, visitors will be able to taste, touch, see and hear insights, ingredients and innovations in food manufacturing.
Key Sensory Experiences include:
Kerry’s Beverage Bar
Kerry will showcase its expertise in taste, proactive health, food protection and preservation at its Beverage Bar, supporting healthier and more sustainable products through its integrated portfolio of taste and nutrition solutions.
The team will be on hand to discuss beverage innovation, offering samples of four beverage concepts: an Orange and Ginger Immunity Booster Shot; Vegan Protein Punch; refreshing Lemon Fruit Splash; and a Cherrywood Smoke Margarita Mocktail.
The Insights PLAYhouse
PLAY Innovation conducts market research and forecasts innovation insights across the product development process. A range of these insights will be available at the Insights PLAYhouse, where visitors can sit back and sample a short course on consumer-led innovation.
Businesses will be able to discover what holds back their innovation efforts and whose voice is essential to a first-class innovation program tailored to FMCG by specialists. They can then step into the PLAYhouse for a virtual stroll through the four phases of successful FMCG innovation.
Monash Virtual Reality Experience
The Monash Smart Manufacturing Hub will provide visitors with a virtual reality experience of a food processing plant and manufacturing production and packaging line using advanced robotics and smart membrane technology. The MSMH allows virtual commissioning and optimisation of all manufacturing production and processes through digital twin technology.
Visitors will be able to access AR technology to view innovative food products that Monash has helped research and develop. Monash Food Innovation demonstrates a virtual reality experience of the retail environment that is used for consumer research studies to assist SMEs and multinationals de-risk front-end innovation and new product development (NPD).
Ingredients Tasting Zone
At the Ingredients Tasting Zone, visitors will have the opportunity to sample finished products containing flavours and functional ingredients from three foodpro suppliers: Health Ingredients Co., Belcolade (DKSH) and Carmi Flavors.
DKSH and Belcolade will showcase Belcolade’s Belgian chocolate, made sustainably through the Cocoa Trace program. It will offer single origin chocolates from Papua New Guinea and Cameroon, Amber chocolate from the Selections range and a Plant Based Milk Chocolate.
Health Ingredients Co. will be showcasing Fenuflakes, an ingredient high in fibre, high in vegan protein, low in fat and low in carbohydrates. Derived from fenugreek seeds, the defatted flakes have a neutral taste profile.
