Dingley takes over as Matthews' CEO
After 36 years as CEO/MD at Matthews Australasia Lester Nichol is moving on to take on the role of chairman, with Mark Dingley stepping into his shoes as chief executive officer.
In handing over the reins, Nichol said: “I am extremely confident that Mark’s energy, experience and dedication makes him the ideal appointment to this important role and will ensure that Matthews Australasia continues to grow in a rapidly changing market.”
Dingley has already been with Matthews for 23 years, so his experience with the company cannot be questioned. He has had roles in customer service, marketing, product management and sales and was instrumental in developing and introducing Matthews’ iDSnet. The software solution integrates coding, labelling and other end-of-line packaging equipment and delivers product identification and traceability solutions through the manufacturing process and the supply chain.
As general manager – operations, Dingley has presided over significant growth in vision, quality inspection systems and product authentication solutions that have provided itemised proof of providence for producers and exporters of Australian products.
Dingley is also chairman of the Australian Packaging & Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) and is actively involved with GS1 Australia.
Nichol’s sons, Ben and Matt, will continue as part of the Matthews leadership group and as active participants on the company’s advisory board.
