Changes to Food Standards Code - submissions invited

Tuesday, 12 May, 2015

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is calling for submissions on changes to the Food Standards Code. The changes were gazetted on 10 April 2015 and are set to take effect on 1 March 2016.

“The purpose of this proposal (P1036) is to update the revised code to account for variations made to the current code from January to February 2015,” said Steve McCutcheon, FSANZ’s chief executive officer.

“A number of minor errors and omissions in the standards and schedules will also be corrected.”

Any amendments made to the Maximum Residue Limits Schedule since January will be addressed in an additional proposal later this year.

Submissions should be sent by 26 May 2015. More information about Proposal P1036 is available here.
