AIP to host packaging training sessions at foodpro
The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) will be an Association Partner at foodpro and is set to host two packaging sessions and two training courses.
Sunday 23 July — Sustainable Packaging Session: Meat
This session aims to showcase sustainable and circular packaging solutions which have recently won PIDA Awards and WorldStar Packaging Awards for the meat/proteins side of the industry.
Monday 24 July — NEW Active & Intelligent Packaging Training Course
This course is designed to assist anyone who is responsible for packaging, marketing, operations and logistics in the consumer goods and broader supply chain wanting to implement smart packaging solutions. It is designed to provide attendees with a better understanding of the smart packaging solutions currently available. Best practice examples of award-winning packs across Active & Intelligent Packaging will also be discussed in the course.
Discussions will cover active and intelligent packaging in easy-to-understand terms, and will highlight applications being embraced by brands across various industries.
All attendees will attain 1.5 CPD points per session towards the global Certified Packaging Professional designation and a certificate of attendance.

Monday 24 July — Flexible Packaging — Now & Into the future Training Course
This course will cover the basic fundamentals of flexible packaging, its benefits, how users chose the specific structures to match the product, its performance, marketing challenges and how the packaging is manufactured.
With the latest challenges facing us regarding sustainability in packaging the course will discuss the options, pros and cons of compostability vs recyclability, moves to mono material recyclable packaging to meet CEFLEX standards and other innovative alternative materials now available. As an add-on, the course will be looking at the future plans for flexible packaging and available closed loop collection programs, kerbside collection development, advanced recycling options for circular design and many others to meet Packaging and Food Waste Targets.

Tuesday 25 July — Sustainable Packaging Session 2 for the Food Industry
This session will showcase innovative packs that have recently received PIDA Awards and WorldStar Packaging Awards including certified compostable packs, fibre-based packs, packs made out of renewable materials and smart packaging. It will also bring together industry experts to discuss the potential of packaging to reduce food loss and waste.
