Scholarships announced

The Logistics Association of Australia Ltd (LAA) has announced the 2007 University Scholarships Program which will be sponsored by Swisslog Australia.

The scholarships will provide an incentive for undergraduate and postgraduate tertiary students to undertake logistics and supply chain streams and majors, with the aim of pursuing careers in these areas.

Four scholarships will be offered " two of $2500 each at undergraduate level and two of $5000 each at postgraduate level. Each award includes membership of the LAA and will contribute to course-related costs.

Mentors will be sought from LAA Ltd membership to offer encouragement and counsel to the students throughout their courses and, where relevant, share work experiences. Universities that register for inclusion in the program will be advertised on the LAA website and in its newsletters.

Swisslog Australia is a global provider of integrated logistics solutions for warehouses, distribution centres and hospitals.

The closing date for applications is 31 March 2007.
