Nutrition experts feature at anti-ageing conference
Attendees at the AustralAsian Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine’s (A5M) 10th annual conference in Melbourne will hear from several leading experts on nutrition.
The keynote address will be presented by international authority on nutrition, weight management, chronic disease prevention, lifestyle medicine and integrative medicine Dr David Katz, who will discuss key insights from his research in a presentation titled, ‘Anti-Aging From Altitude: A Holistic View of the Elephant in the Room’.
Dr Katz is the founding Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Centre and President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He has been named as one of the 100 most influential people in health and fitness in the world by Greatist.com.
Delegates to the A5M Conference will also hear from other acclaimed leaders in nutrition, including a preconference workshop presented by Professor Michael Fenech, who will address the emerging field of nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics.
Dr Thomas G Guilliams PhD will discuss the need for a deeper understanding of the HPA axis and stress responses and show practitioners how to use this knowledge to allow for better patient outcomes related to stress-related chronic disease management.
Other presenters will include: Dr Nathan O’Callaghan, Research Scientist – Nutrition and Health Sciences at CSIRO; Dr Penny Caldicott, Director of Invitation to Health and current President of the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association (AIMA); Dr Ian Dettman, Founder and Director of ACMN, Co-founder and Senior Director of Medical Nutrition and Dr Kassim Salih Abdullah, a member of the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Mosul, Iraq.
The 10th Annual A5M Conference will be held at Melbourne’s Sofitel on Collins from 7–8 August 2016.
