Bite-size steps to digital transformation in the F&B industry

Rockwell Automation will host the 'Bite size steps to digital transformation in the food & beverage industry' webinar on Wednesday, 4 March from 1–2 pm (AEDT).

Food and beverage manufacturers are faced with the constant challenges of introducing new products to the market and providing greater transparency into ingredients and their source, all while driving for productivity for their workforce and associated assets. The webinar will discuss how creating a digital thread for a business can be a key enabler to assist in addressing these challenges.

The digital thread can connect recipe and product design with production execution and process performance to drive efficiencies and provide insights. It can increase visibility and traceability of products and equipment, manage asset reliability, and transform the product life cycle — from ideation and product design through plant floor execution to the end customer. This will be discussed further during the webinar along with answering frequently asked questions, such as:

  • Where is the value?
  • Where do I start?
  • How can I leverage my existing systems?
  • How can we make bite-sized investments that provide the capability and value you need now and into the future?

Presenters at the webinar will include Colin Speakman, Lead CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) Principal at Kalypso Management Consultants; and Michael Cahill, Manufacturing Information Solution Consultant at Rockwell Automation, who has over 30 years’ experience within manufacturing and supply chain processes, systems and technologies.

Speakman will be presenting at the session titled Enabling the Digital Thread in your Factory of the Future. The digital thread is enabled by putting in place capabilities and technologies that allow for proactive decision-making, blended digital and physical experiences, real-time automation, and digital integrations that cross traditional functional and system boundaries. This session will define the digital thread for food and beverage manufacturers and explore use cases across the value chain to deliver top-line growth, improve operational excellence and enable risk mitigation.

During the session titled Is Digital Inventory Management right for me?, Cahill will discuss how digital inventory management can control all activities required to support production operations, including warehouse operations, inbound processing, storage and operation, and outbound processing.

Organised by WF Events, the webinar will be moderated by Geoff Hird, Managing Director/Publisher, Westwick-Farrow Media.
