AIP releases 2021 Salary Survey report
The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) has released the findings from its 2021 Salary Survey in the form of a detailed report for its members. The survey and this report are the first of their kind in the Australasian region.
The report outlines the demographic and pay information that was collected from a survey conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Packaging Professionals. The purpose of this survey was to collate data so that a detailed breakdown of the constituents of the packaging industry could be developed. Roles, level of education, experience, career satisfaction, concerns and salaries were some of the information obtained in the survey.
The published report, then, paints a broad picture of the packaging industry and shows where things are working well or where change could be brought about.
Some interesting pieces of information can be gleaned from the report. For instance, it shows that the industry is host to a highly educated cohort, with almost half of all respondents having a high-level qualification such as a postgraduate degree, and one in five having an undergraduate certification. It is noted that there were a limited number of people who had packaging-specific qualifications.
Impressively, over a third of the respondents have been part of the packaging industry for over 20 years and a large percentage of people felt secure in their jobs, even during the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The report is available to AIP members and the respondents of the survey.
